win32 version to be carried on a flash stick...
I don't know. Do you think it should be? What would be necessary for
that to happen?

There is PortableApps.com and their NSIS-based, GPLed portability wrapper.
Any win32 user with at least a bit of skills with the installer can do it - so even the maintainer of win32 port could make the wrapper, and file the request (with files) to PortableApps.com forum. :) I had a portabilized version some time ago, but I lost it due to a D:\ disk cleanup. :(

Why should I do this?
Every month a company ships a new framework - but which framework stays alive? I think it's time for an android port - but I'm a iPhone junkie.

The main problem is that the SDL based crimson "framework" is absolutelly not ready for touch screen devices.

I love this game and I've made ports for many platforms but the next step needs a deep refactoring and I have not enough time for this.

Ciao,
Silvio

There is a webos port (by myself) which works quite fine. The changes are published on my blog.

CF is cross-platform. Portable app means that the app stores settings locally, and does not influence the host OS (thus, can be carried between OS's of same type - like, between PC's with Windows XP or later)
PortableApps wrapper is easy to use, so once I get the chance I'd try making the portabilizer myself.
All that the portability wrapper would do is redirect %documents%\crimson into a folder within the portable installation. :)
I tried once, but due to bugs with NTFS on D:\ I had to throw lots of files away. :(
Silvio, you know NSIS well - you use it to make the installer for the win32 build of CF. So, working with PortableApps wrapper won't be much of a problem. It's up to you to decide who will do it - I, or you.
